Australia certainly has much to offer travellers. We have been fortunate enough to travel to quite a few places over time but have a long ‘to do’ list.
Australia is making a great effort in regards to accessibility and the introduction of the Companion Card seems to have made many attractions more aware.
The variety of what you can see and do is quite spectacular but just keep in mind if you are from overseas the distances are great. Allow time to explore this great country.
If you live in Australia, your own ‘backyard’ is a great place to test out travelling if you are unsure about travelling with a person with a disability. You learn a lot about what you need and it can all be done in familiar territory. This is where we started and everything just seemed easier when we weren’t worrying about long haul flights, foreign currency, medical issues and everything that goes with international travel.
We’ve done both and enjoyed each experience. It is about feeling comfortable and what is possible for your family.
