Our decision to stay at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica was an emotional one. I should say, emotional on my part. On two previous visits to Santa Monica, without the kids, I had dined at The Georgian Hotel. I love the hotel’s connection with old Hollywood glamour. You know, the days before social media (yes, there was a time without social media), where the
Andrew and his wife Jen have been following along with our page for quite some time. They have just returned from a trip to the USA and have shared their experiences in a blog post for us. Andrew runs an exciting drumming program in Australia and full details can be found at the end of the blog. Andrew writes – As promised, here is my
We have had a pretty amazing year and like most people we have been reflecting on how we travelled through 2014. We had a relaxing start with a trip to a place we call our second home, Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast. We love holidaying there because it is an area so familiar to us we don’t need to run around sightseeing.
Our family have visited Disneyland in California three times in recent years and the feeling of excitement and anticipation about a visit does not change for us. In saying that, we still look for very specific features in a hotel. We like to be within walking distance of Disneyland as
When we realised our flight from New York was going to arrive into Los Angeles at 10pm we decided to book an airport hotel rather than driving directly to Anaheim. I wasn’t expecting much from an airport hotel, especially when our last hotel had been the fabulous Hotel Beacon in New York. My requirements were simple – a hotel close to the airport with a
Santa Monica is a fun, beachside, family friendly area. There are great restaurants, the pier for rides and shopping in Third Street Promenade. Santa Monica’s location also gives easy access up and down the coastline and isn’t too far from the heart of Los Angeles. Accommodation Double Tree Suites by Hilton We’ve stayed at this hotel twice and found it ticked the boxes for us.
We love Los Angeles. The people are friendly, the climate is good, the shopping is great and there is always the chance of spotting your favourite celebrity. Not everyone seems to love LA as much as I do but I think with every city you need time to find the places that fit with your personality within that town. LA is more than a gateway
