COFFS HARBOUR TRIKE TOURS – ACCESSIBLE COFFS HARBOUR

Donning a helmet for a trike ride isn’t something I often do but holidays provide unique opportunities which I revel in trying. We find these experiences connect our family and it’s wonderful to relax and enjoy each other’s company without the daily admin of life. It’s what we look forward to when planning a trip and something we reminisce about when it’s over. Usually I’d send BJ with Hubby on a trike ride but this time I channeled my inner biker chick and hit the open road.

Lee from Coffs Harbour Trike Tours picked us up from our accommodation at North Coast Holiday Parks Urunga Heads and BJ couldn’t wait to swap his wheelchair for the trike. He eagerly transferred using the foot peg of the trike to climb up onto the exceptionally cushy leather bench seat. BJ chose an open-face helmet and although always reluctant to wear a helmet, knowing the rewards, he cooperated. Once I was geared up we waved goodbye to Hubby and AJ and started on the 20 minute drive to Nambucca Heads.

At the first rumble of the trike starting its engine, BJ had a smile plastered across his face. As he companionably glanced at me throughout the ride I was glad I took the chance to do the ride with him. It was wonderful being on the receiving end of his joyful glances as we made our way down the highway.

Take a look at a small snippet of our ride below.

Coffs Harbour Trike Tours is based in Urunga but Lee takes tours up and down the coast. Lee loves the area and is an enthusiastic and easy going guide. You can pick from one of the suggested tours on the Coffs Harbour Trike Tours website here, or customise a tour. We travelled down the highway to Nambucca Heads. As it’s a highway between Urunga and Nambucca, the coast isn’t within view during the drive. BJ loves being on the trike, so for him being on the trike is what makes a tour exciting, rather than the views. If you’re a fan of gorgeous vistas and have the time and budget, I would suggest giving the Dorrigo trip a whirl. The views on the trip are spectacular.

We’d like to thank Lee from Coffs Harbour Trike Tours for the opportunity to rumble down the highway and give a trike ride on the Coffs Coast a go. I’ll probably not become a biker chick but BJ is sold on it as a mode of transport.

We were guests of Coffs Harbour Trike Tours but as always our opinions are our own.
