It’s adults only at Sea Life Nights at Melbourne’s Sea Life aquarium and my friend Belinda and I happily lined up to join in the fun. After all, we’ve seen what happens at night in a museum, we figured we should check out what happens in an aquarium after families go home.
We can report all the good stuff comes out, including cocktails and canapes.
What could be better than watching the penguins while sipping a drink and nibbling on canapes? Once guests had settled in and got over the penguin cuteness overload, a lovely staff member shared educational information about the penguins. I have to admit Belinda and I were somewhat caught up on our own chatter but it’s always a wonderful bonus to learn more while on a night out.
I love children, after all I have two of my own, but I have to say there is a calmness about the aquarium with an adults only crowd. It seems extremely decadent wandering around with drink in hand, no little people to trip you up and less people crowding the windows.
As the group disperses throughout the aquarium there’s no problem getting photos or a good view of the sea life.
Sea Life nights make an ideal date night or just a fun night out with grown up friends.
It’s a great idea for groups looking for an accessible outing.

ACCESSIBILITY
What I really love about this as an outing is that it’s catering for grown ups and fully accessible.
Sea Life Melbourne has excellent access throughout with a mixture of ramp and lift access between the levels.
Accessible bathrooms are available. The best one, with press button entry, is located at the end of the aquarium.
We visited Sea Life Melbourne as guests but as always, our opinions are our own and based on a wonderful experience.
If you’re thinking of visiting as a family, as we have done in the past, you can read our previous review.
You can read more about Sea Life Melbourne on their website.
Thank you for taking me back there, I just loved the pinquins on reall ice!
