Mother’s Day isn’t far away. It’s a day we usually spend enjoying being a family by doing something fun together. This year will be a little different because Hubby has a work commitment so my Mother’s Day will be postponed.

There is no better place to enjoy unobstructed views of Sydney. We’ve visited Sydney Tower Eye several times and I’ve written about our experience and the access here.

MADAME TUSSAUDS
Madame Tussauds has a mix of celebrities and personalities which cover a good time period so the saying, “There’s something for everyone” really does apply here. There are sports stars, movie stars, TV personalities and medical heroes on display. Although our kids are not familiar with Alfred Hitchcock or Audrey Hepburn, they are certainly keen to see the likes of Katy Perry and Pink.

SYDNEY SEA LIFE AQUARIUM
The aquarium is a wonderful place for an outing with Mum. There are so many beautiful sea creatures to see up close and it’s accessible.

SEA LIFE AQUARIUM MELBOURNE
We had a wonderful visit to Sea Life in Melbourne a couple of years ago. The aquarium has great wheelchair access with lift access between the levels. The kids loved getting up close and personal with the sea life and we thought the glass floor over the croc was awesome. I can only imagine what he was thinking while looking up at BJ’s legs. Mind you they are pretty skinny, not much meat for a croc.

TARONGA ZOO
Taronga Zoo is a favourite for our family and offers a full day’s entertainment. This Mother’s Day they are offering Mums free entry to the zoo when accompanied by a full paying adult or child. COCKINGTON GREEN
We just visited Cockington Green Gardens again last weekend. The miniature displays and beautifully manicured gardens appeal to all ages. If you visit make sure you take BJ’s tip and have some home-made scones. They are delish!

TIP FOR THE MEN FOLK
A day out is lovely, but a day out where we, as Mums, don’t have to pack lunches and organise the outing is even better. Organise the food, the entertainment and the aftermath of unpacking everything when you get home and you should be onto a winner of a day out for Mother’s Day.
