In between road tripping the Great Ocean Road, exploring everything Tasmania has to offer, checking out an award-winning hotel in my home city of Sydney, and the usual day-to-day craziness of the Jones household, I’ve been working hard with the Travel Without Limits team to bring the Autumn/Winter 2026 issue to life!
Publishing Australia’s first (and only!) disability-specific magazine is a huge job: gathering stories from people with lived experience of travelling with a disability, assembling them into a magazine, sourcing images, fact checking, proof reading, proof reading again… And yet, every time I see the finished product, it all feels worth it.
This new issue is going to be sent off to the printer soon, but I just couldn’t wait to give you all a sneak peek at what’s coming. And if you subscribe right now, we’ll be able to squeeze you onto the mailing list so you can get the new issue hot off the presses!

In our element on the Great Ocean Road
Although Australia is an island, ironically, there are few roads that hug the coastline closely enough to delight road trippers with ocean views. The Great Ocean Road delivers spectacular ocean vistas at every turn and a variety of accessible accommodation and activities to engage all ages. Our cover story for this issue showcases the very best of what it has to offer for active adventurers and family road trips.

Access all seasons in New York State
A summer vacation, a fall getaway, exploring a winter wonderland, or celebrating spring – you can do it all in New York State. This round-up includes some of our favourite attractions outside the Big Apple, including the best spots to find fall foliage, amazing adaptive snow sports in winter, gardens with breathtaking blooms in spring, and lakes you’ll love to visit in the heat of summer.

Adaptive skiing with Phoenyx Powell
I met Phoenyx Powell on a recent trip to Oregon (more on that below!), and I was thrilled when she agreed to share her adventures in adaptive skiing for Travel Without Limits. Learning to ski for the first time is one thing. Learning to ski as an amputee with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and energy limiting illness introduces an entirely different set of considerations.

Wow-worthy Oregon
On my return from my travels in Oregon, I declared that if our family were to ever move to the US, Oregon would be my state of choice. That’s a big call, and I’ll admit, I am yet to visit all 50 states, but I was wooed by Oregon’s diversity, the ease of which we travelled from the mountains to the coast, and the friendliness of the locals. The fact that Oregon was recently named the first state in the US to be “accessibility verified” by Wheel the World, really sealed the deal.

Travelling gluten free? Piece of cake!
Eating is one of the great pleasures in life, especially when travelling and exploring new dishes. It’s trickier when you have a dietary requirement, but there’s no reason you should have to miss out. Our staff writer, Sheree Strange, has been gluten-free for over ten years, and in this issue she shares her favourite destinations for gluten-free travel.

Dutch courage
Travel Without Limits contributor Carrie-Ann Lightley discovers an accessible city break that just works in Amsterdam, a city built on water and movement.

Plus, inside you’ll find accessible accommodation reviews, all the latest news about accessible travel, and lots more stories from people with lived experience of travelling with disabilities to inspire your own adventures.
It’s easy to get your hands on a copy to check it out for yourself. You can subscribe here, or purchase an electronic copy on Amazon (US) or Amazon (AU).
