Sea Acres is a 1.3km rainforest boardwalk located near Shelley Beach. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and perfect if you need a change of scene from the beach in summer or if you are visiting in cooler months.
Our family have visited this attraction many times over the years and although the beauty of the rainforest has not changed the National Parks centre and Cafe have had a makeover since our last visit.
There is only so much eating a family can do on holidays so we didn’t manage to squeeze in breakfast or lunch at Sea Acres Cafe, sadly. I did like the look of the menu and fancied sitting outdoors enjoying the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest. It’s definitely on my list for our next visit!
Guided tours are available and Sea Acres have unique experiences like Yoga! A very peaceful experience I would imagine. (Check with Sea Acres as to when the Yoga is available if you are interested)
There is currently an exhibition called “Spirit of the Land Exhibition”, which is a multi-media, interactive experience for the whole family. You can watch Birapi traditional stories performed in sand art. Entry is a donation of $2 per person. Wheelchair access is available from the outside of the building. We thoroughly enjoyed looking at this exhibition but the sand art on the lightbox was the most popular with all of us!
The gift shop has a fabulous range of Australian products, books and gifts. The products are good quality and would make lovely gifts.
